Bob Berlin Participates in the Glendale Height's Police Department's "Let's Go To Jail For Special Olympics" Night

GLENDALE HEIGHTS - On October 8, 2026, DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert “Bob” Berlin participated in the Glendale Height’s Police Department’s inaugural “Let’s Go To Jail For Special Olympics Night.” The effort raised over $16,600 for Special Olympics Illinois.

Each featured "inmate," was tasked to avoid jail time by raising bail from their friends, family, coworkers, and community supporters. The "Most Wanted Criminal" with the highest amount of bail raised was Superintendent Lucilla Davila of Marquardt School District 15.

As part of the program, attendees heard directly from Special Olympics Illinois athletes and their families about the life-changing impact that fundraising efforts like this have on individuals with intellectual disabilities throughout Illinois. Donations help provide year-round sports training, athletic competition, health initiatives, leadership opportunities, and inclusive experiences at no cost to athletes and their families.

Bob Berlin extends thanks to Glendale Heights Police Chief George Pappas and the entire Police Department for putting on an outstanding event for a great cause. Other elected officials who joined in the fundraising efforts included: Illinois State Representative Diane Blair Sherlock, Illinois State Senator Suzy Glowiak Hilton, Glendale Heights Mayor Rebecca Giannelli, and members of the Glendale Heights Village Board.

Special Olympics Illinois is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law, and 100% of the proceeds from this fundraiser directly benefit Special Olympics Illinois athletes.
