DuPage County Commemorates National Peace Officer Memorial Day 2025

WHEATON - On May 15, 2025, DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert “Bob” Berlin, DuPage County Sheriff James Mendrick, Undersheriff Eddie Moore, and members of the Sheriff's Office Command Staff held a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the DuPage County Police Officer Memorial. The DuPage County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard presented the colors, a wreath was placed at the memorial and a moment of silence was observed for all who gave their lives in the line of duty.

The Annual National Peace Officers' Memorial Day arose from a 1962 proclamation by President John F. Kennedy that designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week.

Thank you to all law enforcement officers who have given their lives in the line of duty to preserve public safety.
